Sanctuary Cannabis, a respected leader in the cannabis industry, is coming to Scotch Plains, the company announced Thursday.
Also known as Sanctuary Medicinals, the company has established a strong presence in multiple states, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Florida, and is now eagerly entering the New Jersey market to connect with the community by delivering high-quality products and superior customer service, company officials said.

The Scotch Plains Township Council voted unanimously to endorse the application of High Rise Botanicals (HRB) Group, which includes Scotch Plains native and local business owner Sean Flannery, who spoke at the meeting.
The group is seeking to apply to the state for a medical marijuana dispensary that would be located at the site of the San Giuliano property on Route 22 East.
The Scotch Plains Township Council unanimously endorsed an application from The Chillin’ Out coffee and smoke shop on Route 22 that is seeking to become the first local dispensary for medical marijuana.
Chillin’ Out owner Dan Jacobs needs approval from the Township in order to be able to apply for a license from the State of New Jersey, which hopes to expand the number of authorized dispensaries in the state.
"It's a difficult application process, but we are going to take a shot at it," said Dan Jacobs, who said the cost of the license is $20,000.

The Scotch Plains Township Council voted unanimously to endorse High Rise Botanicals to open a Medical Cannabis Dispensary where Route 22 and Mountain Ave. meet in Scotch Plains. If the company does gain approval from the NJ Department of Health they plan to have a cultivation site located somewhere in South Jersey.
