A cannabis establishment is planned for the former location of Big Man Restaurant on Broad Street, next to a Taco Bell and across the street from a Burger King.
The Central Planning Board last week approved plans for a retail marijuana dispensary, Motherland Cannabis Co., to be located at 360 Broad St., where there is now a three-family home. The board’s approval followed a discussion of parking, security measures and potential agreements with the nearby fast-food establishments.
“We do know the stakeholders in the community,” Calvin Souder, attorney for the dispensary, said in presenting the application. “We have made our best efforts to reach out to them, and we have spoken to some of the concerns — being to make sure that children are far enough away from this and don’t have access to it.”
