The Mount Laurel Township Zoning Board unanimously approved a variance Wednesday night from Naavi Realty, who is requesting to open a cannabis retail store named Nirvana Dispensary at 1134 Route 73.
The Zoning Board also unanimously approved a minor site plan for the company at the same meeting.
“The applicant satisfies all the conditions of the conditional use standards except the requirement for a 20-foot side yard setback,” CherylLynn Walters, the attorney representing Naavi Realty, said at the meeting. “The existing building is 16.9 feet from the side yard … as a result of that deviation, the applicant requires the conditional use variance relief from this board.”
The retail store’s purpose meets state medical and public health safety standards, indicating the variance should be granted, according to Jim Miller, one of the planners Naavi Realty has retained for the application.
