The Mount Laurel Township Zoning Board on Wednesday night unanimously approved Daylite Cannabis’s proposal for establishing a retail shop at 1136 Route 73.
The approval was based on multiple conditions, such as the company and its owner Steve Cassidy making every attempt to install landscaping at the site, constructing a sidewalk if the New Jersey Department of Transportation deems one necessary, widening the part of the parking lot that runs parallel to the building and ensuring emergency access to the building is available, according to various Township officials at the meeting.
Cassidy must now wait to see if the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission will approve his application before opening the retail store. Cassidy said during Wednesday night's Zoning Board meeting that he did not know when that state entity might decide on his application.
