The Borough Council was unanimous in its decision Thursday to ban all classes of marijuana businesses, recreational and medicinal, from operating within its borders.
Mayor Jay Coffey said the council may revisit the issue in the future, but at this juncture, the town is not prepared to move forward with either retail cannabis businesses or the various production industries involved with it.
No members of the public spoke during the comment period to adopt the ban, though 66% of borough voters supported the legalization of recreational marijuana at November's general election.
