An ordinance to ban the sale of marijuana in the town was introduced at last night's Chester Township council meeting.
If passed, the ordinance would prohibit the sale, testing, and growth of all marijuana within township limits, including medical marijuana. The sale of marijuana related paraphernalia, like bongs, would also be banned within township limits.
The proposed ordinance does not ban the possession or usage of marijuana. Possession and usage are still illegial recreationally in New Jersey, and all forms of marijuana remain illegial federally.
