The Montclair Town Council paved the way for two more recreational marijuana dispensaries in town during their public meeting this week.
On Tuesday, the council passed resolutions authorizing Class 5 cannabis retailer licenses for Night Owl LLC and Kush Connection LLC.
Night Owl will be located at 300 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, the site of the former DLV Lounge. Kush Connection will be located at 135 Valley Road in Montclair, across the street from Tierney's Tavern.
Two proposed cannabis businesses in Montclair saw big milestones at council and planning board meetings this week, and they’re both located in the same building: TLEHL Inc. and Genuine Grow.
The Montclair Planning Board gathered for a public meeting on Monday, April 24 to discuss several items, including a cannabis-related application from TLEHL Inc. for a manufacturing facility at 154 Pine Street.
A new recreational marijuana business is coming to Montclair.
The Montclair Town Council unanimously voted to pass a resolution that awards the town’s first Class 2/Category E cannabis manufacturing license to TLEHL Inc. during their meeting on Tuesday. It clears the way for the company to open a facility at 127 Pine Street, Annex #2.

On the night the Montclair Township Council was expected to give its final approval to ordinances that allow seven recreational marijuana establishments in town, council members also presented another ordinance — to ban them all together, at least for now.
The pathway is now clear for recreational marijuana businesses to set up shop in Montclair.
Acting less than two weeks ahead of a state-imposed deadline, the Montclair Town Council passed a package of local ordinances that allow for cannabis-related businesses on Tuesday evening (watch video below).
New Jersey voters approved recreational marijuana in November 2020. When state lawmakers crafted the legalization bill, they left room for municipalities to ban or limit the number of cannabis businesses operating in their communities.
