Our Revolution New Jersey is calling for a socially and racially just approach to cannabis legalization. As November’s ballot measure nears, it is important to recognize that the legalization measure does not address any aspect of restorative justice. There are no expungements, no releases, and no racial justice provisions. It is unacceptable and cruel to leave people in jail and with records as the people of New Jersey celebrate the legalization of cannabis.
New Jersey Medical Marijuana Patients Pay about 300 Percent more than Colorado recreational program as an example. An average ounce in Colorado cost roughly $100 out the door. In New Jersey an average ounce cost $464. New Jersey Medical Marijuana Patients do not have access for much needed medication such as edibles, tincture, and flower of all strands to treat underlying conditions. New Jersey has over 44000 patients. New Jersey only has six dispensaries currently of the six locations only two of them have extraction licenses.
Cannabis legalization without home cultivation is not legalization, it's monopolization. New Jersey medicinal cannabis patients need home cultivation for affordable access and adults, in general, need it as a means for fairness and social justice in legalization.
All states that have legalized cannabis allow for patient medicinal cannabis home cultivation. Don't let politics leave New Jerseyans out, still criminalized and with lack of affordable access like legislators are planning.
