“Iron Mike” Mike Tyson made an appearance today at the Cannabist in Deptford to promote his TYSON 2.0 brand of cannabis products.
A large crowd was already lined up and waiting for him ahead of his noon scheduled appearance. But only those who scored a wristband – only 100 were given out – were among the lucky ones able to meet him in person inside the dispensary.
But that didn’t stop the crowd’s enthusiasm for hoping to catch a glimpse of the famed boxer as he pulled into the lot.
“Let’s Go!” someone shouted as Tyson’s black Escalade with tinted windows pulled in.
Mike Tyson is one of the most legendary boxers of all time and now he’s working on becoming one of the biggest players in the marijuana game, as his ranch in California is producing all sorts of cannabis products in a state where the drug is legal.
He’s also enjoying a lot of what he’s growing, as he said on his podcast “Hotboxin with Mike Tyson” this week that he and his business partner, Eben Britton, smoke around $40,000 worth of pot a month.
With recreational marijuana now legal in California, a growing number of celebrities are trying to cash in on the green – including former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson.
Tyson has long been an advocate of using cannabis for medical issues and Thursday night he celebrated the launch of Tyson Ranch. It’s his own 40-acre pot farm in the Mojave Desert which aims to be a cannabis resort for growers and enthusiasts.
“I’ve been fighting for over 20 years and I have so many aches and pains,” said Tyson. “If I didn’t have cannabis I don’t know what would happen.”
