When the State legalized recreational cannabis sales, the Township automatically became the home to one facility in the medical marijuana site on Route One which was grandfathered in by law and our preference was to have only that one site.
However, when the possibility of locating another retail shop at the Adult Book Store parcel on Route 1 South came up, we decided to allow for one additional cannabis facility.
Brittany A. Bonetti, an attorney in Cooper Levenson’s Health Law and Cannabis Law practice groups, will serve as a panelist at the 2019 Health Law Symposium at the Marriott Delta Hotel in Iselin, N.J. on Oct. 4. The program is part of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) and NJSBA Health Law Section’s Institutes & Conferences initiative. Bonetti’s presentation is entitled “The New Jersey Medical Marijuana Program Expansion: Considerations for Practitioners and Health Care Institutions.”
An Iselin-based health clinic that used to be run by one of the most pro-medical marijuana doctors in the state — and who also had his medical license suspended last month — is still open to treat patients. It just has a new medical director and has been rebranded with a new name.
