TABLED - Cannabis Businesses Ordinance Amendment
The council tabled the cannabis amendments which adjusted the locations where retail establishments could operate.
Council Ed Zipperich called for the tabling saying they did not receive notification from the Planning Board’s April 17 meeting which rejected the amendment.
The rejection was based on the opinion of Planning Board attorney Michael Leckstein who said, “That the present borough ordinance is contrary to the Master Plan…, because it is inconsistent and is detrimental to economic development,”
Borough attorney Dan Antonelli said that according to statue, “The Planning Board must provide and submit a report (to the council), on why they rejected the amendment within 35 days. If not submitted, the council can move forward on a second reading (of amendment).”
