The city's Zoning Board of Adjustment rejected an application for a medical marijuana dispensary on Memorial Drive and First Avenue.
Cranbury-based Breakwater Treatment and Wellness proposed opening the medical marijuana dispensary, which would have been the company's third location in New Jersey.
Breakwater's flagship dispensary in Cranbury has been open since 2015 and a satellite dispensary in Roselle Park opened in September, but Breakwater has long planned to open a dispensary in Asbury Park.
The company was seeking preliminary and final site plan approval for an alternative treatment center. If approved by the zoning board, the dispensary would have been located on two lots along the NJ Transit railroad tracks, with an address on Memorial Drive and parking lot and entrance on First Avenue.

Breakwater is and was one of
Breakwater is and was one of the best dispensaries in the entire state, today, I am sure that their reputation as a medical dispensary is still of good report. that being said there are many businesses in asbury park that have been able to bypass the red tape why not them?
actually went back an looked
actually went back an looked at this site both in person and on google earth etc and it was going to be just a bad place to have it overall due to parking being lacking and proximity to the train tracks imo
