A small, unassuming storefront that once housed a shoe repair shop will soon house Bloomfield’s next cannabis dispensary, following a ruling from the Planning Board on Tuesday night.
The Board unanimously approved the application of Emerald Tea Supply Company, a service-disabled veteran-owned boutique dispensary to be located at 368 Broad Street. Members appeared satisfied with the owner’s business model, floor plan and security proposal, the latter of which was reviewed and approved by Bloomfield public safety director Samuel DeMaio.
Bloomfield is already home to one cannabis shop – the RISE dispensary on Bloomfield Avenue was among the first in the state to open up for recreational use last year – though Emerald Tea Supply Company will be much smaller, occupying a 715 square foot space.
