The wheels of government don’t always move quickly or straight ahead. For the past several months we have reported that Princeton is moving ahead with plans to accommodate the newly legal cannabis industry in various forms around the town. But meanwhile the headlines have talked about the town opting out of the cannabis trade.
But the opt-out was only to buy time while the Cannabis Task Force (CTF) worked on recommendations to Princeton Council regarding what type and how many cannabis businesses should be permitted in town and where such businesses could be located.
Now some of that time investment may be paying-off. The task force will hold two public meetings in September to update the community on its work. Community input is welcome and desired, the task force reports.
The first meeting will be Thursday, September 9, at 7 p.m. It will be virtual with a link available on municipal website.
The second meeting will be Saturday, September 18, at 10 a.m. It will be in-person outside (weather and COVID permitting). The location is still to be determined. A virtual meeting will be held if necessary.
