The township has banned most marijuana businesses from operating here, but officials said the Township Council could revisit the issue once state regulations are released.
The council approved an ordinance July 27 that bans cannabis establishments, distributors, delivery services and microbusinesses from operating in the township.
"Once we don't make a decision then we've made one for five years," Councilwoman Josephine "Jo" Hochman said. "We're not saying no one is ever going to change their mind again or there will never be anything, but what we're saying is this has happened so quickly, and we can't just rush into it."
As far as people going elsewhere to buy marijuana, Hochman said, "it's not involving that much money that we're losing."
