A new smoking ban on the boardwalk has so far been implemented without a hitch, according to township officials.
Police Chief Thomas Boyd said officers have been reminding smokers that lighting up is no longer allowed on the boardwalk.
That means no cigarettes or cigars, and certainly no weed.
An ordinance banning smoking from the boardwalk was introduced earlier this month and will have a second reading at the July 6 Borough Council meeting, Mayor Anthony Vaz said.
Police, however, have already been instructing visitors to refrain from lighting up.
