As a longtime resident of Riverside, I found the Aug. 9 Our View editorial, “Marijuana dispensaries: May Riverside be just the beginning,” to be so enthralling that I have to comment.
Of all the towns in Burlington County, I never expected Riverside to possibly have the very first medical marijuana dispensary. Initially, I had mixed feelings about the prospective location and whether or not the town would face any consequences due to this potential business.
However, after analyzing both your editorial and the BCT story you mentioned, “Riverside site could open first county medical marijuana dispensary,” written by David Levinsky, I ultimately concluded that the dispensary would be a great addition to my hometown and the surrounding communities.
Opening a medical marijuana dispensary in Riverside will significantly reduce the lengthy travel for locals to obtain their prescriptions. That is remarkable, considering that there are a select few dispensaries in the state and that patients should not have to travel such long distances to fill their prescriptions.
