Listening to New Jersey politicians thump their chest telling us how great their new medical marijuana program is would be laughable if it wasn't so sad.
First, only people with money can afford this program. Filling my 2-ounce-a month prescription at current prices costs me between $10,000 and $12,000 a year. Then there is the 60 miles I have to travel to get it.
I qualify for three of the medical problems on the list of what you can get it for, and I've now had 27 operations in the past 50 years, which pretty much makes me a expert on pain. For 50 years I've been advocating the use of marijuana instead of using opioids for pain, and for 50 years our politicians have helped the drug companies get America hooked on Oxycontin, and other opioids. And now that they created an epidemic, they want to sue the very companies they took money from to get elected. Yet at the same time they don't want people to be able to get a milder drug.
