The Oakland Borough Council passed an ordinance prohibiting retail marijuana businesses but exempting medical marijuana use, caregivers and dispensaries, northjersey.com reported.
The ordinance bans retail stores, cultivation facilities, manufacturing, testing, social clubs, cultivation, possession, storing, testing, labeling, transport, delivery, dispensing and distribution.
In Sayerville, the borough council voted, 3-0, to pass a resolution prohibiting the retail sale of marijuana for recreational purposes. In addition, the resolution states the council’s opposition to any legislation that legalizes the retail sale of marijuana for recreational purposes.
The possibility of adult-use marijuana businesses was raised at the last Cranford Township Committee Workshop Meeting.
