NJ medical marijuana: Virtua, Samaritan Hospice train staff
Dr. Stephen Goldfine was one of the first doctors to join New Jersey's medical marijuana program, back when his terminally ill patients were among the few who could buy state-approved cannabis.
A lot has changed since then, as marijuana continues to migrate from a street drug into a medically accepted remedy for a wide range of ailments. But even as the state's program has expanded, patients aren't using marijuana to get "high," Goldfine said.
"These are pretty sick patients struggling very hard to get the care they need," he said.
