A Secaucus-based company called Harmony Dispensary expects to open a marijuana dispensary near the Hoboken train station by the end of the calendar year, but two other companies hope to come to that area as well — and now, one is suing the other.
Law 360 reported on Sept. 24 that Terrapin, a cannabis company that also wants to open a dispensary near the train station, is accusing Harmony of "bypassing New Jersey's vetting process" and wants Harmony's approval reconsidered.
Curaleaf, the largest alternative treatment center in the state, quietly added another building to its Bellmawr campus this summer. Last week the company announced plans to open a second dispensary in Bordentown while continuing to whole sell product to other alternative treatment centers around the state.
The cannabis giant has 93 dispensaries in nearly two dozen states. Last week, the four-building South Jersey campus bustled with patients waiting in their cars, packing the parking lot and lining up along the roadside.
Terrapin, who have proposed their facility about a block away at 86 River Street, filed a lawsuit on September 22 in Hudson county court looking to overturn Harmony’s approvals. Named in the case are Hoboken’s planning board, SBRE Realty Management, and Harmony Foundation.

This is the first medical marijuana shop in either Monmouth or Ocean counties. It is located at 59 Rt. 35, near the entrance to the old Fort Monmouth property.

After a lengthy presentation by representatives of Insa of Easthampton, Massachusetts, the Middle Township Committee voted to support the use, which is part of the application process to receive a state license for medical marijuana.
Garden State Dispensary is set to open its third location, in Eatontown, NJ.com reported.
The company already operates dispensaries in Union and Woodbridge.
In addition, TerrAscend, MPX NJ and Harmony plan to open more dispensaries, in Phillipsburg, Atlantic City and Hoboken, respectively.
On top of that, Curaleaf – one of the largest marijuana retailers in the country – announced it will open its second New Jersey dispensary in early 2021, in Bordentown, NJ.com reported.
Garden State Dispensary will open the first medical marijuana dispensary in Monmouth or Ocean counties on Thursday, the state's Department of Health said.
The department issued Garden State Dispensary a permit on Monday to open a satellite dispensary at 59 Route 35, near the entrance to the former Fort Monmouth property. The dispensary received state approval to open last year and then had to fulfill the regulatory requirements for the permit.

The New Jersey Department of Health today announced it has issued a permit to Garden State Dispensary to open a satellite dispensary in Eatontown. The Eatontown dispensary is the 12th facility dispensing marijuana for medical use in New Jersey and the first in Monmouth County.
The Eatontown location is set to open Thursday, September 17. Monmouth County has 7,341 patients in the program, the 4th largest enrollment by county. Garden State Dispensary currently has two sites in Woodbridge and Union.
