Like many trends that spread from California eastward, vaping in 2018 outpaced flower as the most popular method of consumption in California. Similarly, people curious to try marijuana but unwilling to smoke it are turning to edibles. Expect one of the most significant cannabis industry trends to be the continued shift away from flower and towards other methods of consumption.
I'm not too concerned with when it's legalized, so much as if/how many plants we will be able to grow for personal use. I already have a whole indoor grow setup I'm using for just regular gardening. (Alex H.)

I ran into a friend of mine who likes to smoke marijuana and, in the interests of journalistic research, I asked him what he thought of the ongoing effort in the state Legislature to legalize pot.
Legislation is pending, S 10, to expand the state’s medical cannabis program.
The measure would increase the number of licenses the Department of Health can issue to new providers in order to meet New Jersey’s increased patient demand.
Other provisions of the bill would:
Raise the monthly allowed amount of medical marijuana from 2 ounces to 2.5 ounces in 2019 and three ounces in 2020;
Remove the limit on how much medical cannabis terminally ill patients and hospice patients can receive;
Remove the ban on edible medical marijuana to minors;
New Jersey lawmakers are looking at legislation to expand the state’s medical marijuana program.
Assemblyman Reed Gusciora said his bill would allow an additional 12 medical marijuana dispensaries in New Jersey.
“Currently the state allows six. Only five are open. Many patients say they don’t have ready access to the dispensaries,” he said. “It would also be a way of creating competition and lowering the cost of the product itself.”
Other forms of the drug — including edibles and oils — would be allowed at the dispensaries if the measure becomes law.
