An East Brunswick limited liability company wants to turn a former Metuchen bank into Central New Jersey’s first drive-thru dispensary for recreational marijuana.
Dasco Solutions LLC, has applied to the Metuchen Planning Board to re-purpose the former Skylands Community Bank, at 700 Middlesex Ave., turning it into the area’s first drive-thru pot dispensary.
Buying marijuana products without getting out of your car is still rarity in New Jersey.
The state’s first drive-thru dispensary opened in Lodi in August 2022, and on Oct. 16th, South Jersey’s first drive-thru dispensary opened in Camden. Its owner, Dominic Rivera, predicted “there’s going to be more coming in the future.” Apparently, he was right.
Dasco Solutions is seeking conditional use approval, plus preliminary and final major site plan approval from. A 7 p.m. hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 2nd.
If approved, Metuchen’s drive-thru dispensary would be Central New Jersey’s first.
