The Paterson City Council has approved a resolution to support the state application for a Class 1 cultivator facility in the city. This resolution comes after the council had previously endorsed a site on 6th Avenue for Green Recreational Holdings, LLC to operate a Class 2 cannabis manufacturing facility. The manufacturing facility is responsible for transforming raw cannabis materials into various forms, including edibles, oils, extracts, topicals, and other cannabis-infused products. However, the city did not have enough licenses available for a Class 1 cultivator (grower) at that time.
To align with state regulations and facilitate the state application process, the Paterson Code was amended during a previous meeting to increase the number of licenses for Class 1 cultivators from three to six. This change allows the city to accommodate the state's application for a Class 1 cultivator license at the same site where Green Recreational Holdings, LLC intends to operate their manufacturing facility. The company has expressed interest in combining cultivation and manufacturing activities at their site.
