Do you know where your marijuana is?
It’s certainly not for sale at your local dispensary. As to when that dispensary will eventually open, Gov. Phil Murphy’s people are moving at a pace that suggests they’re smoking their own stash.
The first step in that process was appointing a commission. That’s always a bad idea. The one and only reason for a politician to appoint a commission is to get someone else to do his dirty work for him.
In Murphy’s case, the dirty work in question reflects his penchant for putting the interests of public employees above the interests of the public. The most recent news release on the Cannabis Regulatory Commission’s website tells us that a certain William Wallace “will transition to the senior staff role of Director of Labor Relations for the Commission.”
Director of Labor Relations? Just how many employees does the CRC need to perform its sole duty, which is to get out of the way so a willing buyer can connect with a willing seller?
