Adult-use marijuana retailers in Maine sold $94,643.38 worth of product on Oct. 9, the first day of legal sales in the state, according to preliminary figures released Monday by the state’s Office of Marijuana Policy (OMP).
Total sales for the long weekend – Friday through Monday – were $258,411.58 across 6,430 transactions, the OMP said in an update Tuesday afternoon.
Maine had eight active adult-use retail licenses when sales began, the OMP noted.
However, the regulator said only six retail stores were actually open on the first day of sales.
