Assemblyman Jamel Holley, who represents Elizabeth and Roselle is a legalization proponent and is urging residents to attend a three-hour hearing.
“I've been an outspoken supporter of legalization because I believe that it will make our state more fair and put an end to the needless incarceration of thousands of people, most of whom are black and Latino,” says Holley. “Of course, this is a controversial issue and there are good people on both sides of it with strong opinions, and I'm proud to be a leader in this important public discussion."
The Hearing will take place at 10 a.m. on Tues., March 27, at Mt. Teman A.M.E. Church, 160 Madison Ave. in Elizabeth.
